Altar Guild | All services in the church reflect the careful attention of the Altar Guild. Setting the Eucharist table, arranging altar flowers, setting up for weddings and funerals and coordinating the preparation of the sanctuary with the clergy are among the duties of Guild members.
Chairmen: Fern Newsom, 288-9461; Anne Burnett, 358-8144; Memorial Flower Chairman: Sally Ayers, 353-9461 Christian Social Outreach | Two clothing drives are held each year; parishioners are asked to remember those in need when seasonal closet cleaning takes place. This committee also serves a lunch at St. Andrew's School and at St. Stephen's for seniors from Peter Paul Development Center. Circle 1 | This Bible Study is held in the Parish House Library on the second Tuesday of the month, October through May, with the exception of January. Coffee is served at 10:30 a.m. Clergy lead the discussion at 11:00. All are welcome.
Chairmen: Fern Newsom, 288-9461; Marti Thomas, 784-3450 Coffee Guild | The coffee hour following the 11:15 a.m. service (10:00 a.m. service in summer) is hosted by volunteer groups participating in this ministry of hospitality. Members provide refreshments and a table arrangement, serve coffee and punch, greet newcomers and enjoy the fellowship of the hour.
Chairmen: Susan Armstrong, 285-1797; Sally Ayers, 353-9461 Gracious Gourmets | Providing meals for parishioners at times of birth or bereavement, each Gracious Gourmet prepares a meal in her home on the first of the month and keeps it frozen until called for delivery.
Chairman: Dabney McCoy, 355-6387 May Fair House | This retail food and gift shop is staffed by volunteers. Located adjacent to Palmer Hall Chapel, the shop is open weekdays, October through May. Profits are given to local organizations supporting women and children at risk.
Chairmen: Justin Frackelton, 741-7848; Bonny Hamrick, 285-7080 Outreach Development | Participants in Peter Paul Development Center’s Seniors Program gather at the Center Tuesday and Thursdays for lunch and activities. The Women of St. Stephen’s offer a trip for the Seniors to St. Stephen’s for lunch, fellowship and activities.
Chairman: Tibby Gardner, 740-6123 Trips/Tours | Once or twice a year, the Women of St. Stephen’s sponsor a day or overnight trip to foster fellowship and to support our outreach efforts.
