May Fair House
The May Fair House is a gift shop run primarily by volunteers and overseen by a volunteer board. The shop has a wonderful selection of unusual gifts at great prices, and is famous for its jams, entrees and other delicious foods--all prepared by volunteers in the May Fair House kitchen. While shop volunteers and most of the cook teams are women, we do have some men who pitch in to cook delicious foods using tried-and-true recipes: chicken pot pie, spaghetti pie, beef burgundy and many, many more.
Proceeds are used for outreach projects selected by a grants committee of the May Fair House.
Numerous volunteers keep expenses low to maximize the amount of money that can be used for outreach. More than $40,000 in grants was awarded earlier this year!
There are four ways to support the vital ministry of May Fair House:
+ Volunteer to work in the shop one shift per month (or more, if you can); contact Joan Hines, 353-9853.
+ Volunteer to help prepare the foods and canned items sold in the shop; you do not need to be a gourmet cook! For information, call Leslie Brockman, 288-8805.
+ Help spread the word about May Fair House--tell your friends, neighbors and colleagues.
+ Shop! In addition to delicious foods prepared by May Fair House cooks, you'll find tabletop items, accessories, picture frames, baby gifts, a large selection of Scout bags, wonderful gifts for men, and so much more!
May Fair House hours of operation
September-May, Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Friday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and most Sundays.
You may enter the shop, which is located in the parish house, from its separate entrance in the parking lot, or from the inside entrance, just down the hall from the Lounge, not far from the parish office.
