They are working on the hurricane-damaged home of a schoolteacher who had been cheated in the past by an unscrupulous contractor. Unfortunately, this has been a common occurence in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. More than five years on, the work continues. Have you gotten your flu shot? For the next two Saturdays (10/22 and 10/29), 9-11 a.m., flu shots will be available at St. Stephen's in the Vestry Room, thanks to IVNA. You can get yours right after you shop at the Farmers Market! Shots are $28, and IVNA accepts cash, check, Medicare Part B or Medicare HMO. Recipients must be 18 years or older. Proceeds from the flu immunizations given by IVNA are used to fund its charity home care services. Getting your flu shot from IVNA means that uninsured and under-insured people in our area are able to receive critical skilled home health care they would not otherwise be able to get.
