Speakers

The Rector's Forum meets on Sundays between the 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services, beginning at about 10:10 a.m. The Rev. Gary Jones speaks and teaches on a variety of topics, and guest speakers are also featured. Past speakers have included authors Phyllis Tickle, the Rt. Rev Mano Rumalshah, the Rev. Paul-Gordon Chandler, the Rev. Dennis Maynard, and the Rev. Dr. George Conway; the Rev. Bob Haden, an authority on the labyrinth; Amanda Hughes, one of the primary authors of the Journey to Adulthood Curriculum; Rebekah Rojcewicz, Director of The Good Shepherd Center in Memphis and an expert on Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a formation program for young children.

Note: When participants ask questions of the speaker, there will be periods of silence since the microphone does not pick up anyone other than the speaker(s). In many cases, the speaker will repeat the question, but if you hear periods of silence, simply wait several seconds and the speaker's voice will resume.

Guest speakers for the Rector's Forum occasionally present more in-depth workshops during their visits to St. Stephen's (for example, Tom Ward on Centering Prayer, Jon Sweeney on Mary).

Wonderful Wednesdays provide fellowship for the entire parish, beginning with dinner at 5:45 p.m., and are sometimes followed by speakers from the parish or from the community and elsewhere.
