Small Group Retreat: Forgiving and Being Forgiven, led by Curtis Almquist, SSJE
5 p.m. Friday, May 9, until 3 p.m Saturday, May 10 at Chanco-on-the-James
Forgiveness is central to Jesus’ good news, yet it is one of the most challenging practices in Christian discipleship. Our retreat will draw on the scriptures and on our own life’s experience to ponder and pray about the gift of God’s forgiveness and our own.
In addition to Brother Curtis' teaching, this retreat will provide time for reflection, prayer, silence and group conversation. Come and take stock of your spiritual life and life of prayer at the end of this program year. Sign up at any Welcome Table or Information Central, or use our online form.
Br. Curtis, formerly a parish priest, is the Superior of the Society of Saint John the Evangelist, the oldest Anglican men’s religious order. He lives at SSJE’s monastery in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and is active as a conference speaker and spiritual director. He and other brothers from SSJE are frequent and welcome visitors to St. Stephen's.
$125 per person includes program, lodging and meals
